Frequently asked questions.

Clear answers for common setup, account, privacy, and billing questions.

Microphone access is blocked. What should I do?

  1. Open the Notes Recorder app at https://notesrecorder.ai/app.
  2. Click the browser lock or site settings icon and allow microphone access.
  3. Check macOS or Windows privacy settings and allow your browser to use the microphone.
  4. Reload the page, click Start again, and test with a short sentence.

Company browsers or managed laptops may block recording tools. If that happens, ask your IT team to allow notesrecorder.ai or use an approved browser.

Why is the live transcript delayed or missing?

Live transcription is currently set to US English and depends on browser Web Speech support, microphone permissions, device input quality, accent conditions, and the network. Try a current Chrome or Safari release, select the correct microphone, speak clearly for a few seconds, and keep the tab open while recording. Other browsers and languages are not guaranteed.

I verified my email. Why am I not signed in?

Return to Notes Recorder and sign in with the same email address you verified. If the app asks you to create a password again, use Sign in instead of starting another checkout. If you forgot the password, use password reset.

What does Lite include?

Lite costs $5 per month and includes 180 recording minutes, live transcripts, AI-written meeting minutes, saved history, rough notes, separate Copy Notes and Copy Transcript controls, and notes exports. Payment must succeed before recording minutes activate.

What is included in each paid plan?

Starter includes 1,800 recording minutes per month for $19/month. Pro includes 3,600 recording minutes per month for $39/month.

Each metered meeting is rounded up to the next whole minute, with a one-minute minimum.

How do I cancel or update billing?

Sign in, open Billing, and use the billing portal to update your payment method, change plan details, or cancel. Cancellation stops future renewals and generally leaves paid access active through the current billing period.

Can I get a refund?

Refunds are reviewed case by case. Subscription fees are generally not prorated or automatically refunded after the billing period starts, after recording minutes are used, or because a saved meeting was deleted. If you believe you were charged in error, had a duplicate charge, or could not use the product because of a verified product issue, email support with your account email and a short explanation.

How private are my meeting notes?

Saved meeting minutes and transcripts are tied to the signed-in account that created them. You can also turn on two-step verification from Profile to add an email code after your password. You should still avoid recording information you are not authorized to capture and should confirm participant consent before recording.

How do I refresh AI meeting notes from history?

Open Meetings, select a saved meeting, review or edit the transcript if needed, then use Refresh AI Notes. The app sends the current transcript context for a fresh title, summary, sections, and action items.

Does Notes Recorder store previous meeting minutes?

Yes. Signed-in users can save meeting minutes and transcripts in private meeting history. Saved meetings are scoped to the account that created them, and the saved meeting record does not include the audio file.

How do I use Notes Recorder like an app?

Open https://notesrecorder.ai in Safari, Chrome, or Edge. On iPhone or iPad, tap Share and choose Add to Home Screen. On Mac Safari, use Add to Dock. In Chrome or Edge, open the browser menu and choose Install app or Create shortcut when available.

What can I export?

You can copy AI-written notes separately from the full transcript. Notes-only export options are available for saved and current meetings as text, spreadsheet-friendly CSV, Word-compatible output, and browser print/save-to-PDF.

How do I report an accessibility issue?

Notes Recorder aims to support WCAG 2.2 Level AA across the public site and app. If keyboard navigation, screen reader output, color contrast, captions, focus visibility, exports, or another accessibility issue blocks you, email support with the page, browser, device, assistive technology if applicable, and what you were trying to do.
