- No desktop app or browser extension required
- Automatic joining
- No; the signed-in user opens the app, confirms authorization, and presses Record
- Language and browser
- Live recognition is set to US English and final transcription defaults to English. Current Chrome or Safari with microphone and Web Speech support is recommended; other browsers and languages should be tested first.
- Live output
- Running transcript when browser speech recognition is available, plus a running AI summary and structured notes
- Final output
- Meeting title, overview, topic sections, decisions, risks, action items, rough notes, and a separate transcript for review
- Audio processing
- After stop, a supported recording with a live transcript is automatically sent through the backend to OpenAI for speaker separation when the upload is 25 MB or less and the AI service is available.
- Audio storage
- Saved meeting history stores transcript, notes, and metadata, not the audio file. The browser provides a current-session audio download.
- Maximum single recording
- 90 minutes; a recording can stop sooner if the account has fewer minutes remaining
- Human review
- Required for material details because transcripts and AI notes can be incomplete or inaccurate

Privacy and data handling claims
- Saved minutes, transcripts, rough notes, titles, attendees, and action items are tied to the signed-in account that created them.
- Meeting content is processed through Notes Recorder's private backend and OpenAI's API to provide speaker separation and notes. Browser Web Speech processing may also involve the browser or operating-system provider.
- OpenAI states that API data is not used for model training unless the API customer explicitly opts in. Notes Recorder sets
store: false on Responses requests; separate abuse-monitoring retention rules can still apply.
- OpenAI's current data-controls table lists no abuse-monitoring or application-state retention for the audio-transcription endpoint used for speaker separation.
- Notes Recorder says it does not sell, rent, or trade customer information and does not use meeting content for advertising.
- Trusted providers may be used for hosting, email, payments, AI processing, account security, and support.
- Customers can delete saved meetings and can contact support for account deletion, access, correction, or export help.
- Users remain responsible for recording consent and organizational approval.
These are company claims summarized from the current Privacy Policy and security overview, not an independent security certification.
